NOT SUITABLE FOR BEGINNERS!
The highlight of this level is drafting and sewing ladies formal trouser.
This next level will see you not only moving on to improving your Dressmaking & Pattern drafting skills, but also taking you to the next level of dealing with what I call “intermediate level of fabrics”.
Completed my Improves Sewing Classes and want to expand on ypur skills even more? Or you might already know the basics of sewing as well as know introduction level of pattern drafting and dressmaking and, hoping to move on to the next level of our classes If that is the case, then this Intermediate Sewing Classes is for you!
Taking my Intermediate Sewing classes will see you working with the next level fabrics. Over the duration of 12 weeks, you will draft and sew….
>>> a princess line dress with a bit of variations to the skirt and sleeves
>>> a button-up ladies top without collar and
>>> basic ladies formal trouser ( not PJs )
In this Intermediate level classes, you will learn how to work on customised dressmaking and pattern drafting projects. Use of commercial patterns will be discouraged in this level. You will be encouraged to explore your creativity in dressmaking as you manipulate those darts, pleats, patterns, fabrics, etc. You will be working with invisible zippers, buttonholes, pockets, necklines, collars and sleeves variations in this level.
So…. are you ready to take your sewing to the next level of dressmaking and pattern drafting? I will work along with you to continue your sewing journey!

Prerequisite: Completed my Improvers Sewing Classes or have prior knowledge of basic dressmaking and pattern drafting.

Sewing machine
Overlocker
Fabrics for each project
Drafting / Butcher’s / Packaging paper
Dressmaking pins (Glass, Pearl, or Plastic head)
Measurement tape
Tailors chalk
Matching coloured cottons/ threads along with Extra Bobbins
Scissors
Rulers
Pattern drafting rulers
Hand sewing needles
Extra sewing machine needles to have handy
Pens / Pencil
Note book to take down measurements

Intermediate level pattern drafting
Pin and layout patterns
Manipulate a basic bodice
Manipulate a basic skirt
Variations of sleeves, pockets & necklines
Working with invisible zippers
Buttonholes
Collars
Garment construction
Setting up, using and basic troubleshooting of an overlocker.
Learners will complete one project each for yourself as well as complete a pattern draft for each project, for a buddy allocated to you as part of your learning. You will all work as a team taking measurements and completing your projects.
Please note as part of your learning, you will also be seeing or working on taking measurements for my customers if needed (optional).
