The Circular Skirt
Full, half, quarter or a double circle how much flare would you dare?!
The Half Circle creates a very nicely flared A-line which naturally doesn’t have quite the exuberance of the other circle styles but makes a really super Maxi skirt.
The Full Circle skirt has retained favour since it’s 1950s heyday. The fullness it gives is perfect for petticoats but will you resist the lure of the Poodle applique?
The Double Circle makes a wonderfully full skirt. This is definitely one for the girl who loves a lot of fabric to swish!
Description
Over these 2 weekends workshop learn how to make a circle skirt on a waistband and with or without pockets.
Learn how to handle such a large piece of fabric and to manipulate the challenging behaviour while cutting and sewing – especially through the areas affected by the fabric’s bias. Learning to sew through the bias angles of the fabric is a great way to hone your skills. This is a great choice if you have made simple garments previously.
This skirt features a waistband, pockets, either zipper and button or an elasticated waistband. While making the skirt you will learn to handle the bias of the fabric, use overlockers, a zipper foot and buttonhole foot, as well as how to fuse interfacing and why do you hang a circle skirt before hemming?

– draft a full, three-quarters, half, quarter and even a double circular skirt.

– make your own circle skirt pattern
