Polynesian Fashion Sewing Classes
If you are interested in learning to make customized clothing, this is the class for you. This is a hands-on class, and you will learn to create your own patterns using body measurements. Learners will need to complete few different projects and might* also get an opportunity to meet with customers at times.
As this is NOT a beginner class, all learners will need to……
- have either completed our Beginner Sewing Classes or already have beginner sewing skills knowledge
- know basic sewing machine troubleshooting
- know to set up your machine, set tensions, check stitch lengths, change needles, etc
- able to cut fabrics (straight lines and curves) confidently
- able to work different fabrics and change your machine needles according to the fabrics used.
These classes will give you to the confidence in putting your sewing skills to work. You can save money making your own clothing or you can use these skills to set up your small business of dressmaking.

Fabrics for each project
Dressmaking pins
Measurement tape
Matching colored cottons/ threads along with Bobbins
Scissors
Extra sewing machine needles to have handy.

One full length dress
One knee length dress
Two styles of wrap-around skirts
One lady’s top
Two styles of short sleeves men’s shirts
One men’s summer shorts
One children’s dress
One set shirt and shorts for little boys
The above listed will all be Polynesian styles of traditional outfits.

Prerequisite: Completed the Beginner Sewing Classes, confident with your sewing skills, knowing your sewing machine settings and troubleshooting.
